Students had roles in Design, Construction and Marketing where they had to make decisions, work together in teams and problem solve.  They also put their presentation skills to the test by delivering their business ideas to each team.

Big Lottery Transitions is a 5 year programme for year 10 and 11 students with special educational needs, giving students the opportunity develop their confidence and soft skills giving them a greater chance in securing higher education and better career choices.

Working on a carousel basis the students were able to visit four of the six employers getting a in depth view in to these specific careers. The students also had the chance to have a question and answer session to close the day with all the employers present to discuss careers.

The employers really pushed the importance of soft skills and the variety of careers with in these big organisations. The employers that attended were Peter Brett Associates, Microsoft, Thames Water, University of Reading, Berkshire Physiotherapy Centre and Shoosmiths.
