Generations Together

Generations Together started in 2009 and was funded by five government departments. It was delivered by Central Berkshire Education Business Partnership and Age UK in partnership with Reading Borough Council. During the 18 months of the project we ran over 20 projects and recruited in excess of 1300 volunteers.

The aim of Generation Together is to work on thr relationships of under 25's and over 50's to help build stronger communities and break down any stereotypes that may be attached to either group. It is a great way for schools to reach out into their local community and also for people to become active within an organisation or community.

Central Berkshire Education Business Partnership have now taken the lead for intergenerational work in Reading. Andrew Haydon has also been asked to join the Local Government Improvement and Development group to assess other Local Authorities on their intergenerational working practice.

Please take the time to have a look at some of our videos and our brochure on intergenerational best practices.
