M-Power

M-Power is a programme for 14-16 year old pupils who have become disengaged from their education. The programme offers time out of school to enable the pupils to assess themselves and their possible futures.

Due to demand from schools we are running two types of programme. Our normal M-power programme is run over thirteen weeks we have an intensive week and then for the rest of the programme the students come in on a designated day. The other programme which is called M-power extra is run once a week for the whole year on this programme the students work towards two wider skills units which is equivalent to one and half GCSE’s.

Both programmes seek to encourage pupils to make good use of their school time and to strive for qualifications and other tangible outcomes that will help them progress. The aim is to support the emotional and social development of young people. In order for them to access the curriculum and be successful in mainstream schooling, but also to experience and learn about employability skills and the skills they will need in the world of work.
